Six men in their 20s and 40s were struck by lightning at Seorak Beach in Jeonjin-ri, Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do.
According to the Gangwon-do Fire Headquarters on the 10th메이저놀이터, two people, Cho, 36, and Noh, 43, were seriously injured and four people, Kim, 33, Hwang, 24, and Choi, 23, were slightly injured after being struck by lightning at Seorak Beach at 5:33 p.m. that day.
Of the four, Cho, who was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest, regained breathing and pulse within 10 minutes but remained unconscious, while Noh was reportedly in a confused state. The other four were reportedly suffering from symptoms such as chest pain and numbness in their lower extremities.
“We responded to a report that several people had fallen after being struck by lightning on the beach and rescued them from being swept away by the water,” said the Gangwon Provincial Fire Department. “Immediately after the accident, citizens and others at the scene performed CPR on the injured who had fallen before the arrival of 119.”
Five of the injured, including one who was seriously injured, were sitting on the beach after surfing, and one person in his 20s with minor injuries was walking with an umbrella when the accident occurred. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident by analyzing nearby CC (closed-circuit) TVs and interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether people were performing CPR.
Meanwhile, before and after the lightning strike, the Gangwon Provincial Office and Sokcho City Hall sent out disaster texts saying, “It is raining with thunder and lightning, so please be careful of lightning strikes and refrain from entering dangerous areas such as the coastline.
