Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien is a strong option to return to the New England Patriots and resume his position as the offense’s leader, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

O’Brien, who’s been the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator for the last two seasons, held the same role in New England in 2011, helping to form the NFL’s third-highest scoring unit after four years with the team in various assistant roles. 메이저놀이터

The Patriots have struggled on offense this season without an official coordinator. Former Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia is the team’s play-caller, while ex-New York Giants head coach Joe Judge is assisting as the quarterbacks coach.

New England ranks 25th in yards per game (319.5), 26th in offensive touchdowns per game (1.7), and 29th in third-down conversation rate (34.09%).

With quarterback Mac Jones enduring a sophomore slump following a promising rookie season, it appears the Patriots are looking to bring in an experienced offensive mind to help revitalize Jones’ career.
