LG Twins’ Moon Sung-joo hit a cool three-run homer to lead his team to victory스포츠토토.
LG won 7-1 on the road against the KIA Tigers in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on Monday at Gwangju-KIA Champions Field. With the win, first-place LG improved to 30 wins (1 tie, 16 losses) on the season. Moon Sung-joo, who started in left field and batted second, went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBIs, and a run scored.
After going hitless in the previous two games of the series against KIA, Moon, who recorded a grounder and a fly ball in his first two at-bats, didn’t miss the opportunity in front of him in the top of the fourth inning when his team took a 3-0 lead.
With the bases loaded, Moon lined a five-pitch fastball from Kia starter Sean Anderson down and away from Kim Dae-yoo in right field for a three-run triple. After scoring three more runs on Moon’s hit, LG tacked on one more run and held on for the win.
After the game, Moon said, “I didn’t aim for any particular pitch. I just went into the batter’s box thinking that I had to get a result. I was lucky that the ball fell on the first base line and I got a good hit,” he said of his triple.
“During the three-game series against KIA, I didn’t help the team too much, but today I got a hit at a crucial time. I’m grateful to the manager for continuing to believe in me, and I’m grateful to the coaches,” he said. “The fans who traveled to the stadium and supported us in bad weather gave me more strength. I am very grateful to them.”
