The 16-man roster for the men’s basketball team to compete안전놀이터 at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September has been finalised.

The Korea Basketball Association (KBA) announced on 26 February the 24-man preliminary roster and the 16-man reinforcement list for the men’s national basketball team in preparation for the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers and the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games.

The 16-man roster includes Heo Hoon and Song Kyo-chang (Sangsung), Ra Gun-ah and Lee Seung-hyun (KCC). Veterans Kim Sun-hyung and Oh Se-geun (SK) also returned to the squad. The pair played beyond their years in the KBL last season, winning the regular season MVP and playoff MVP awards respectively.

Younger players such as Ha Yoon-ki (KT), Lee Jung-hyun (Day One) and Lee Woo-seok (Hyundai Mobis) also made the squad. Lee was also selected for the Chengdu Summer Universiade at the end of June and will join the senior squad after that tournament.

The squad for the Olympic Pre-Qualifiers and Asian Games will convene at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village on Wednesday 21 June. The final roster for each event will be finalised after the strengthening training and an exhibition match against Japan.
