Could Dele Alli (26, Tottenham Hotspur) be resurrected next season, as he scored a hat-trick and drew praise from manager Enzi Postecoglou (58).
Tottenham defeated Ryan City Sailors (Singapore) 5-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Singapore National Stadium on June 26. Spurs fell behind early in the first half, but rallied with four second-half goals to pull away.
Spurs started with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Postecoglou started Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Dejan Kuluczewski, Yves Misumah, Pape Sarr, Destiny Udoji, Ben Davies, Sergio Romero, Pedro Foro, and Guglielmo Vicario.메이저사이트
Son Heung-min played the full 45 minutes, earning his first preseason start. He was also scheduled to start against Leicester City last time out, but the game was canceled due to heavy rain. Playing for the first time under Postecoglou, Heung-min rattled the net with a header in the 26th minute, only to have the goal ruled out for offside.
Instead, it was a hat-trick for the Frenchman. Substituted at the start of the second half, he scored within three minutes and added a second seven minutes later with a header after capitalizing on a mistake.
His decision-making continued to be razor sharp, as he found the back of the net with a stunning Caesar kick and header in the 18th and 22nd minutes, both of which were ruled out for offside. He didn’t give up though and completed his hat-trick with a third goal in the 45th minute.
It was a game to look forward to next season. He joined Tottenham for £60 million with options last season, but only managed to score one goal in 27 league appearances. This preseason, however, he has raised the expectations of the fans by showing off his light touch.
Postecoglou was also full of praise, saying after the game, “I hope he’s confident now. I’ve said before that I really like him. He is very professional and always in the right place. He fits in well with the way we play and makes a presence for himself. He has all the qualities I look for.”
Postecoglou added: “He almost had a multi-goal game against West Ham, but he was unlucky. He was in the right place again today. I’m going to give him a lot of minutes and he’s one of the people I’m looking forward to playing with,” he said, adding, “If you look at a player from the outside and try to imagine if he can fit into the kind of football I want to play, I think he can definitely do it.”
Comparisons to Kane also came up. “They’re different strikers, they have different strengths,” Postecoglou said when asked how Hyssop’s abilities differ from those of Kane. Kane is a great presence in the penalty box, but he is also in the box in a different way. They both have the right ability to play in their respective areas.”
In particular, he emphasized Hyshalisson’s wide radius and ability to press aggressively. “As a second striker, he can play wide,” says Postecoglou. I think people overlook it, but he has a really good work ethic. He works hard for the team and a lot of what he does goes unnoticed. His pressing and sprinting continues to trouble opposing defenses. He can obviously play several positions.”
Meanwhile, Giovanni Lo Celso was also well-received after scoring for the second game in a row against West Ham. He was on the release list under Antonio Conte, but has been in fine form this preseason.
When asked about reports in Spain that he will keep Rosselso, Postecoglou said: “I’m here, my friend. I don’t need to go to Spain,” he said, adding, “I’m very happy with Lo Celso. He did really well in training. He is a high quality player and suits our style of play. I think Lo Celso is playing the kind of soccer we want to play, so yes, it’s going well,” he expressed his satisfaction.
