Former KIA Tigers outfielder Preston Tucker (33) is leaving the San Diego Padres.
Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported the news of Tucker’s release on social media on Friday. Tucker joined San Diego last December, but didn’t receive a big league call-up until August. In 55 games at Triple-A El Paso, he batted .293 (191-for-56) with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. His on-base percentage (0.433) and slugging percentage (0.565) combined for an OPS of 0.999.
Tucker didn’t make it to the big leagues after the 2018 season. He turned his attention to playing for KIA in the KBO from 2019 to 2021. He hit 32 home runs and 113 RBIs in 2020, but was not re-signed after his third season in 2021 and returned to the U.S. He immediately signed with the Atlanta Braves in an attempt to return to Major League Baseball (MLB), but it didn’t work out. The same happened in San Diego.스포츠토토
Tucker’s career (three-year) MLB numbers are .222 (600-for-133) with 23 home runs and 68 RBIs in 243 games.
