Randy Arosarena (Tampa Bay), who has 63 career home runs and a career-high 20 in a single season, is taking on a new challenge. For the first time in his career, he’ll play in the All-Star Game Home Run Derby.

“I’m thankful to God for the perfect timing,” Arozarena posted on his Instagram account on Sunday. I’m happy to be playing in the Home Run Derby,” he said on his Instagram account. This will be Arosarena’s first Home Run Derby.스포츠토토

He will be joined by Julio Rodriguez (Seattle), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto), and Mookie Betts (Dodgers) in this year’s Home Run Derby, which will take place on July 77 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. As early as last week, Arozarena was vowing to “put on a good show in the Home Run Derby.”

He’s yet to play in an All-Star Game, but his showmanship is among the best in the league. At the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March of this year, he wowed fans with his “Cigar Bang” gesture, which involves crossing his arms and lifting his chin after every crucial play on the field. This year, he was named an All-Star for the first time in his career.

His baseball skills aren’t going anywhere. In his first full season, he won the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2021. He also hit 20 home runs and 20 doubles in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022.

Randy Arozarena, the ’63-homer’, will participate in the All-Star Game Home Run Derby.

But he’s not exactly a home run machine. Arozarenas hit 20 homers in 141 games in 2021 and 20 in 153 games last year. This year, with 15 homers in 80 games, he’s showing more cannon than the past two years, but he’s still outside the top 10 in the American League.

MLB.com writes, “Arozarena isn’t in the Home Run Derby just because he’s a star; he’s on pace for a career-high season in that category with 15 homers this year. His average and peak bat speeds have ranked in the top 10 percent in the majors in three of the last four years.” With that kind of bat speed, if you’re swinging for the fences, you’re going to hit a lot more home runs than you do in games.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash also believes Arroyo can turn things around: “Our organization knows how special he is, how talented he is, what kind of star he can be, and now the rest of baseball is seeing it,” he said. “He can hit the ball a long way. She can hit it really well, especially when she gets into a rhythm.”

In fact, Arrozarenas is already a Home Run Derby winner. According to MLB.com, he won the Home Run Derby at the 2017 Florida League All-Star Game.
