Mookie Betts (31, LA Dodgers), who is seeking his second MVP award in his career, was named Player of the Month for the first time in the National League.

The Major League Secretariat announced on the 4th (Korean time) that Betts was selected as the National League Player of the Month. This is the second award in his career and the first in seven years.안전놀이터

Betts previously received this award in 2016 while playing for the Boston Red Sox. In other words, this is his first award after moving to the LA Dodgers.

Betts’ performance last month was overwhelming. In 28 games, he batted .455 with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs, 35 runs, and 51 hits, with an on-base percentage of .516 and an OPS of 1.355.

Accordingly, Betts’ performance rose vertically, and he immediately closed the gap with Ronald Acuña Jr. (26, Atlanta Braves) in the 3rd to 4th place for National League MVP.

Currently in a 5-on-5 fight with Acuña Jr. Betts has the edge in his performance, and Acuña Jr. has 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases.

Betts, who had an amazing month, recorded a batting average of 0.316, 38 home runs, 99 RBIs, 117 runs, 161 hits, an on-base percentage of 0.410, and an OPS of 1.025 in 130 games of the season as of the 4th.

This is the highest OPS record in the National League. In addition, Betts continues to rank among the best in the National League in indicators such as FWAR and wRC+.

If Betts wins the National League MVP award based on last month’s explosion, it will be the second time in his career and the first time in five years since 2018.
