Ronald Acuña Jr. (25, Atlanta Braves), who returned last year after undergoing major surgery, will go to the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 100% condition.
MLB.com, the official homepage of Major League Baseball, shed light on Acuna Junior, who is performing well this spring, on the 6th (hereafter Korean time).
Acuña Junior recorded a batting average of 0.429, an on-base percentage of 0.500 and an OPS of 1.000 in five demonstration games until the 6th. He also steals one base that is drawing a lot of attention.
No home run yet. But the most important thing is Acuna Junior’s physical condition. Regarding this, Acuña Jr. commented, “It is 100%.”
Acuña Jr. suffered a major injury called an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee during defense in the middle of the last 2021 season, and returned at the end of April last year.
Coming back from a major injury, Acuña Jr.’s first year back has been disappointing. His batting average and OPS stood at 0.266 and 0.764 respectively.먹튀검증
However, Acuña Junior left excellent results enough to be evaluated as a potential MVP candidate until he suffered a major injury in the 2021 season.
So, last year’s and current grades are not very important. The important thing is Acuna Junior’s physical condition. In this regard, the player himself shows strong confidence.
In addition, teammate and best friend Aji Albis (25) said, “I expect Acuña Junior to be better than the 2019 season,” and “last year he did not go 100%.”
Acuña Jr. will now compete in the WBC with the Venezuelan national team. Venezuela, along with the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, are in Group D of the first round of the finals.
